Welcome Booklet for New Reception Children
To help your child feel as confident and excited as possible about starting school, we have created the booklet below especially for our new Reception children.
This booklet is designed to give your child a friendly introduction to life at Shaw CofE Primary School. Inside, they will be able to see who their new teachers are and begin to recognise the familiar faces who will be supporting them each day. Becoming familiar with staff in advance can help ease any worries and build a sense of trust before their first day.
The booklet also includes photographs of the Reception classroom and learning environment. By exploring these images together at home, your child can start to imagine what their school day will look like and feel reassured about the new surroundings they will soon become part of.
We encourage you to share the booklet with your child, talk about what they notice, and build excitement about the new experiences ahead. Starting school is a big step, and we hope this will help make that transition as smooth and positive as possible.
