Year 2 - Eagles Class

This class is taught by Miss Boardman. The teaching assistant is Miss White.

Across Key Stage 1, learning is fun. We aim to make progression from year to year as seamless as possible. Children are taught subjects and skills to a great extent through Topics. In English and Maths there is a carefully planned and progressive programme of skill development taught in groups and whole class lessons.

Year 2 consolidates and develops the learning and skills acquired in Year 1. As in Year 1, the children are developing independent learning and much of the learning takes place through themes and topics. English and Maths are taught as separate subjects in a practical and engaging way. Science investigations covers all areas of science. During Year 2 children begin to learn cursive handwriting which they find very exciting.
